RectoVerso Library

RectoVerso Library

The Museum library displays the largest collection of books on Lebanese art: from painting, sculpture, architecture, and design to photography. Created in 2009, it offers an expanding anthology of books on art in Lebanon. It documents the development of fine arts through a comprehensive database published in a booklet and is constantly updated.

The library also hosts a publishing house dedicated to promoting Lebanese art. Fine Arts Publishing designs and prints books on Lebanese artists and art produced in Lebanon. It has published twenty-two art books under the motto: We Build Museums on Shelves, and encourages everyone to Build Your Own Museum.

Art Exhibitions

MACAM is a new cultural institution dedicated to exhibiting, preserving and documenting Lebanese art. It organizes exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and other art disciplines, produced in Lebanon in collaboration with private collectors, museums, and public institutions to highlight prominent artists, distinguished art collections, art themes, or eras in Lebanese art.

Beirut Art Book Fair

Beirut Art Book Fair was launched in 2009 and had two appearances at UNESCO Palace, and one at the Beirut Souks and one at Artheum, Beirut. Participation is opened internationally to publishers, galleries, museums, art academies, artists, graphic designers, illustrators, calligraphers and photographers.

Monot Street Book Market

Book Street Market

To promote reading and interest in books, the museum’s library, RectoVerso, spearheaded a monthly book market where booksellers and individuals are invited to sell their books in a congenial atmosphere. The Monot Street Book Market takes place on the first Saturday of every month.
