About his Work

'The Eye' is an installation composed of five black boxes showcasing videos. From an elevated viewpoint, viewers observe intimate movements enacted on the floor. These performances, titled 'Dirt' or 'Bathing,' involve the application of black or red paint on naked bodies. The installation delves into the themes of the individual's connection to society, the convergence of identity and sexuality, and the possibilities for novel forms of community. It was presented as part of Mazen Khaddaj's solo exhibition 'Emotions in Motion' at Artspace Hamra Beirut in 2016.
